Welcome to the official website of Hotel Brixen.

Hotel Brixen is located in Pragues city center. It’s facilities and professional staff create a feeling of home with a little bit of bohemian youthful anarchy.

ABOUT US

Hotel Brixen Prague belongs to the company Brixen, a.s., which also operates the Hotel Brixen in Havlíčkův Brod and several residential units in Prague intended for short-term and medium-term accommodation.
Hotel Brixen Prague was put into operation in 2005 and its name refers to the life and work of the great Czech patriot and European journalist of the second half of the 19th century, Karel Havlíček Borovský.
Karel Havlíček Borovský, forever a political rebel with a permanent youthful anarchy in his work, fell into disfavor with the Austro-Hungarian Emperor Francis Joseph II. For his views and criticism of state power, he had to leave his residence in Havlíčkův Brod in the Vysočina region, as well as his work in Prague and was moved to Brixen (Italian Bressanone), a small town in Tyrol, Italy, where he stayed in a cozy hotel with friendly service. However, he suffered from homesickness here. Towards the end of his life he was finally released from exile and was able to return to his beloved Bohemia. He passed away in Prague shortly after his return.
Hotel Brixen symbolically continues the memory of his asylum of the place which he once loved.
